5. be able to critically reflect upon presuppositions and their consequences
6. have equal opportunity to (including the opprotunity to challenge) question, refute, and reflect and to hear others do the same
7. be able to accept an informed, objective, and rational consensus as a legitimate test of validity
These conditions operate under the suppostion that the adult educator will amke every effort to establish standards within the classroom that significantly reduce the influence of power, the deficit model associated with instrumental learning, and win-lose discourse (Taylor p.12)
